Compressing a satellite program from preliminary design to launch in under four months is only viable with the right modular platform architecture, supply chain relationships, and program discipline. Here is how LaythTech's engineering team achieved it for a commercial IoT relay mission.
The Starting Conditions
The program was initiated in response to a commercial customer requirement for persistent IoT relay coverage over a remote oil field survey area. The customer's operational window created a hard constraint: the satellite needed to be operational within 120 days from program start.
LaythTech's response was to configure our standard 6U bus platform for the application — rather than design a new one — and to execute the AIT campaign in parallel with launch vehicle procurement and regulatory submissions.
